1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MCRep website, apps and services (the "Platform"), operated by MCRep ("MCRep", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Platform with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. To offer paid services or to receive payments you must be legally able to enter into contracts in your country.
2. What MCRep is - and what it is not
MCRep is an online venue that helps Minecraft creators, studios, server networks and other clients ("Users") find each other, showcase work, exchange reviews and communicate.
We do not employ, supervise or control creators, and we do not guarantee the identity, skills, availability, honesty, solvency or behaviour of any User, nor the quality, legality, safety or delivery of any work, job post or payment.
3. Accounts & verification
You are responsible for the information on your profile and for all activity under your account. Keep your password secure and tell us immediately about any unauthorised use. Information you provide must be accurate and must not impersonate any person or company.
A Verified badge means we performed a limited check at a point in time. It is not an endorsement or a guarantee of a User's conduct, quality or ability to pay.
4. Payments between Users
- The payment methods shown on profiles and job posts are informational, self-declared by Users and not verified by us.
- You are solely responsible for agreeing the price, scope, deliverables, deadlines, payment schedule, revisions and usage rights in writing before work begins. We strongly recommend milestones, deposits or reputable payment services with buyer/seller protection.
- Any dispute about payment, quality, delivery, ownership or cancellation is solely between the Users involved. We may, at our sole discretion and without any obligation, look at reports, help facilitate communication, or restrict accounts that break these Terms - but we are not obliged to mediate, investigate, recover funds or compensate anyone.
- You are responsible for any taxes, social contributions, invoices and legal registrations that apply to money you pay or receive.
5. Jobs, applications & trial tasks
Clients are responsible for their job posts being accurate and lawful, and for their hiring decisions. Creators are responsible for the accuracy of their applications and portfolio. Application scores and AI summaries in the hiring pipeline are decision aids only; final decisions are made by the client.
Trial tasks are optional, private agreements between a client and a creator. The client decides whether a trial is paid and the amount; any payment is made directly between the parties as described above. Unless the parties agree otherwise in writing, the creator keeps all rights to trial work that is not paid for, and the client may not use unpaid trial work commercially. Clients must not use trial tasks to obtain free production work.
Never send money, deposits, “registration fees” or personal financial details to someone just to be considered for a job - report it to us instead.
6. Fees & paid features
The Platform is currently free to use: creating an account, building a portfolio, applying to jobs and posting jobs cost nothing. If we introduce optional paid features in the future, we will announce them in advance, show the price before you buy, and process payments through a third-party payment provider. Paid features will never change anyone's reputation, score, tier or badges - you can't buy reputation.
Where paid features are offered, and except where required by applicable consumer law or stated otherwise at checkout, payments are non-refundable. We may change prices for future periods with reasonable notice.
7. Your content & intellectual property
You keep ownership of the content you upload (portfolio images, videos, descriptions, messages, reviews). You grant MCRep a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, resize and distribute that content solely to operate, improve and promote the Platform (for example showing your public portfolio). You can delete your content at any time; residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period.
You must only upload content you have the right to share. If you showcase work made for a client, make sure your agreement allows it. We respond to valid copyright notices sent to info@mcrep.net.
MCRep is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Mojang Studios, Microsoft or Hypixel Studios. “Minecraft” is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB. Users offering commercial Minecraft services are responsible for complying with the Minecraft EULA and usage guidelines.
8. Reviews, MCRep Score & AI features
Reviews must be honest, based on genuine experience and free of personal data, hate or harassment. Buying, trading, coercing or faking reviews is prohibited. We may remove reviews that break these Terms but we do not verify every review's accuracy.
The MCRep Score, tiers, badges, AI portfolio reviews and AI candidate summaries are automated, informational opinions. They may be inaccurate or incomplete, are not professional advice, and must not be the sole basis of any decision. When AI features are enabled, relevant content may be processed by third-party AI providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Prohibited conduct
- Fraud, scams, phishing, requesting upfront “deposits” from job seekers, or misrepresenting yourself or your company;
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content involving minors, or illegal content of any kind;
- Posting malware, spam, misleading jobs, pyramid schemes or unlawful work (for example cheats, exploits or stolen accounts);
- Uploading work you do not have rights to, or infringing others' intellectual property;
- Scraping, reverse engineering, overloading or attempting to bypass the Platform's security or rate limits.
10. Moderation, suspension & termination
We may, at our discretion and without liability, remove content, limit features, suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms, harm other Users or expose MCRep to risk. You can close your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including payments between Users, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity) survive.
11. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that you will find work or hires, or that any User will perform or pay as agreed.
12. Limitation of liability
Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid to MCRep for paid features in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MCRep from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Platform, your agreements or disputes with other Users, or your breach of these Terms or of any law.
14. Third-party services
The Platform may link to or integrate third-party services (for example payment providers, Discord, YouTube or AI providers). We are not responsible for their content, policies or availability, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material we will give reasonable notice on the Platform or by email. Continuing to use the Platform after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in England and Wales have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live.
